Yau's Sichuan Peppercorns have been carefully selected for their vibrant flavour. Grown in China, they are used in many chilli dishes to add numbing heat, or 'mala'.
When combined with chillies, whether fresh, dried, powdered, or as an oil, the Sichuan Peppercorns, which are actually berry husks, help temper the ferocity of the chillies and gives your tongue a numbness.
To add to your own dishes, use as one of your spice blend ingredients, or lightly toast and grind down before adding.
Typical shelf life from purchase 8-10 months. After opening, store in tin and place in a cool, dry cupboard.
